Invisalign
Having straight teeth is not only a confidence builder and visually pleasing, but crowded and misaligned teeth can also be uncomfortable for chewing and create major plaque traps. Left uncorrected these plaque traps can lead to gum disease and bone loss. We have seen great success with Invisalign cases here in our office.
What Are Invisalign Braces?
Invisalign is a custom-made system of clear, plastic teeth aligners. They are completely undetectable so no one knows you’re wearing them.
We will take impressions and photos of your teeth and then a set of aligners will be created, based on your mouth’s exact measurements and desired results. We can even give you a digital image of what your teeth will look like, before treatment begins.
How Invisalign Works
You wear each set of aligners for about two weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will move – little by little, week by week – until they have straightened to their final positions. You’ll visit us about once every six weeks to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned. Total treatment time averages 9-15 months and the average number of aligners worn during treatment is between 18 and 30, but both will vary from case to case.
Although the trays are designed to be worn the majority of your days and nights, it is recommended that you take them out when eating, drinking or brushing your teeth.
Over half a million Americans have taken advantage of Invisalign. The system can fix problems such as overly crowded teeth, widely spaced teeth, cross bite, overbite and under bite. Taking advantage of Invisalign braces can also help prevent serious dental concerns such as tooth decay and periodontal disease.
